I now live in the UK and recently posted a paper form to the ATO to check whether I have any lost or unclaimed super. I wasnt able to complete the request online so had to print off the paper form and send it in.

I sent this form in at the beginning of October 2025 and it is now February 2026 and I have not received any acknowledgement, feedback, or information. I know that the request can take at least 28 days and probably longer if the request is from overseas, but it has now frustratingly been 4 months.

The ATO website doesn't have a phone number that I can ring from overseas either ... Is there an email I can contact to enquire about the status of my request?

Thanks

Hi @jeng,

We don't use email as a secure communication channel, particularly when reviewing personal tax accounts.

You can call our overseas enquiries number, and we'll follow up on your request. This number is available Monday to Friday, between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST). When you call, have your personal details ready, including your tax file number (TFN), date of birth, and any reference information from when you sent the form.

If you're able to access ATO online services through myGov, you can check for lost or unclaimed super yourself. Log in and select Super, then Fund details to view lost and active super accounts. If your fund has paid your super to us as unclaimed money, it'll show as ATO-held super on this screen.
