Hi, I am struggling to link my MyGov and ATO accounts, likely because I have not been a resident for a very long time and accounts are not active. Is there any way at all to get through to someone the obtain a linking code that doesn't involve calling the hotline within Australian business hours? This is quite difficult for people contacting you from overseas.
Unfortunately you will need to call ATO and if you have no luck with the required documents then it would be unlikely calling ATO will give you a linking code. You need the documents to be able to link your MyGov to ATO
"If you don't have the required information to link, you'll need to phone us to get a unique linking code. We will need to ask you questions to establish your identity. This is to protect the privacy of your account."
