Hi everyone,

I've just moved to Australia and currently my main source of income is from rental income from several rental properties overseas owned by my parents who are also overseas.

I've been receiving 100% of the income and bearing every cost of the rental properties for years.

And I'm planning to continue to do it.

Should I include the rental income in my tax return?

If so, what kind of documentation needed to show that I actually receive 100% of the income and bear every cost?

Thanks!

Hi @Shox1305,

Yep you would need to include this income in your tax return. We have answered a simlar question on a previous thread that should help out with that. As for documentation, you won't need anything like this for your tax return. If any documentation was ever required we would be in contact with you and this would be discussed then.

Hope this helps.
