Hi,

I am going on gov paid maternity leave for the 18 wks etc but am wondering when that ceases if i go on unpaid leave for 6 months/year etc will i get single parent payment? I have a 9 yr old and this will be my second child. I am currently working 15 hrs a wk and on job seeker payment. I have been with my organisation as permanent part time for 6.5 years. I am just a bit confused on whether i would go from job seeker to parenting being that my youngest will be under 6 also.

Hope this makes sense

Thanks

Mootaya

Hi @Mootaya,

As this question is more regarding Centrelink and payment eligibility I recommend contacting them directly. We can only really give you general advice and given it's about Centrelink payments I can't give you a definite answer. You can find the number to call on Services Australia's contact page.

Hope this helps.
