Hi All,
I was wondering if a taxpayer is still entitled to work stationary deduction over the expenses he spends in the week when he gets accepted to work (had received, signed, returned the work contract) but not yet commences to work. The work starts exactly the week after he accepted the contract. No salary has been received between the time he accepted the work and the commencement of the work.
**Further insights:
+ The stationary is intended for that work he just got and to record a diary for his tax affairs from that job.
+ The stationary is in total worth less than $300 and is fully substantiated with a receipt.
+ These 3 events (accepted the work, bought stationery, commencing work) occurred within the same financial year.
Thank you.
