It depends on how you applied, and if you completed the application entirely. If you applied by paper, remember that our processing times do not account for postage time - the service standard of 28 days starts once we receive your application. If you applied as an Australian resident using the online form, did you book and attend an Australia post interview with your identity documents? We won't receive your application until you do. If you applied online as a foreign passport holder, permanent migrant, or temporary visitor, the application is received instantly. If you're certain that you've completed the application after considering these things, you should contact us so we can follow up and locate your application or your TFN.
