When I try to link ATO it gives me an error. I use the bank account and the PAYG. When I put the gross amount, it says that it does not correspond to the data that ATO has, but it is the data provided by the company where I worked.

I don't have a superannuation account and I can't see my notice assessments.

What should I do?

Thanks!

Hi @AbigailSimon,

Is this the first time you've lodged a tax return?

If you've never lodged before, you won't be able to answer the 'questions specific to you.'

This is because we get our information from your previously lodged returns.

If you've never lodged a return before, our system won't have enough info about you to confirm the answers you're giving.

If you have lodged previously, check out our article on linking your myGov to the ATO.

If you're entering PAYG details for the 2020-2021 period, try using your PAYG details from 2019-2020 if you've got them.

If you haven't used ATO online before, your previous notice of assessments (NOAs) would've been posted to you. You can use any NOA from the last 5 years.

If you still can't link your account, you'll need to get in touch with our individuals area for a linking code.

I am having this issue (never logged before, and can't link to ATO despite having all the correct details). ATO phone service seems unable to connect me (I tried calling multiple times today, just says busy). Please advise.

ATO are not contactable. Both telephone numbers offered for help [removed by moderator] do not offer help, just a recorded message stating there is a peak in enquiries and my call cannot be answered at this time. I have been trying for 3 weeks now and just going round in circles. So frustrating!

So frustrating! Going around in circles here repeating the process: , wiping browser history, reloading mygovid, talking to ATO customer service, getting security lifted on account, obtaining a new linking code and nowhere to put it - why is this even happening? Bumped up security apparently, which is so tight we can't even access our own accounts.

@RichelleB I have the same issue and have not been able to contact them over the phone as they are unavailable and phone shuts. I live overseas and can’t get through to anyone. Plus I get fines if I don’t pay my PAYGOs on time. This is not right. I need a linking code and can’t get through to anyone to give me this code. I think the app needs a refresh and revamp ASAP.
