Good morning everyone, I worked in London for 2 years 2017-2019 and have super. Since moving home and due to covid, I have not been employed in Australia and am studying to be a Nurse. I have a small super account that was moved into the ATO from when I was a student here before living in Europe for 8years. I want to transfer the amount from UK to my ATO held super. Is this at all possible? My company in UK has gone bankrupt and my super fund say it's possible to transfer to another super fund due to covid. But I am not with a fund at the moment. Please help!

Hi @Aliciaz,

If your super balance was transferred to us, was this due to you being a temporary resident at the time? If so you could request a departing Australia super payment (DASP) due to your previous visa being cancelled.

If you were an Australian resident and have now returned, you will need to open a super fund or retirement savings account and request the money be transferred to one of them. You cannot have overseas super transferred to us. You would need to receive it in hand or request it be transferred to your current fund or RSA, it's up to you to open one.
