I tried multiple times to claim for my first TFN and the system does not work. It appears "TFN application or enquiry currently unavailable.. etc". I'm a foreign passport holder. How can I get my tax file number?

We're aware there is a problem applying online and we're working hard to fix this. Sorry these issues are affecting your application.
We recommend applying online once the issues are resolved. However if you're unable to do so you can check our website for alternative methods to apply.
If you need your TFN for work your employer needs to allow 28 days for you to provide one before they can withhold at the highest rate of tax.
