I recently tried to combine my old super account I've had since I was 18 to my new and different super account. After about a week, I received a letter from my new super that my old super couldn't transfer the funds. However, the next day I received a letter from my old super saying that they had transferred the balance and my account was now closed.
My new super tells me that the transfer was rejected from my old super and I need to contact them. My old super tells me that they approved the transfer and closed my account when the funds were taken out, and tell me to contact the new super.
I don't see any options on the ATO site for what to do under these circumstances.
