I'm pretty sure according to the tax calculation I've overpaid tax by a fair bit. I normally do my own tax return but because of this do I need an account to do it for me? Or can I still do it myself?

You can definitely do it yourself - the system is setup to make it easy for you to lodge (and hopefully get your refund if you've withheld too much). If you're not confident though, it never hurts to find a good agent to guide you through the process.
