I lodged my return online on 6/7 ans had an expected processing date of the 13th July. I made a small amendment on the 14th and my expected processing date changed to the 21st. Fair enough. But when I look under account transactions it shows an effective date of NOVEMBER 21st!! Surely this doesnt mean I have to wait until November for the return to be processed??
Hi @KS67,
What's the transaction description that appears with the effective date of the 21st? If this is the actual tax return transaction, this simply indicates when the outcome is effective from. This is usually just the due date of the return. This won't indicate when it'll be processed by. You'll have a processed date that should be a lot earlier for it. If it doesn't have a processed date yet, it eventually will as your return finalises.

Processed date was a week ago
And the description on the effective date is
Client initiated amended Tax return Individuals - Income Tax for the period from 01 Jul 21 to 30 Jun
Hey buddy, im on the same boat as you with the same effective date of 21st of nov.
Its the 3rd of september now and i have not yet received my tax return. have you received yours yet?@KS67
Hi @cb23,
If you lodged an amendment or a prior year return shortly after lodging your return, this can delay the overall processing timeframe. The effective date is the date for payment if you had a debt amount due via your NOA without incurring an interest amount. Last date for lodgement for self lodgers is 31 Oct. Date for payment is 21 Nov.
You can check out our forum post on Tax return status changed, let us explain. This advises on each progress stage along with info' if there's been a delay and what may cause it.
Hopefully your refund has already issued or processes soon.
