LMITO is supposed to show up on the income tax return under “Less non-refundable tax offsets”. I have been eligible for LMITO the 20-21 and 21-22 tax years but neither assessment shows this section. Anyone?
You need to be an Australian resident for tax purposes to be eligible for LMITO. Your taxable income would also need to be higher than $18,200 and lower than $126,000.
Additionally if your tax payable is reduced to nil as a result of using other non-refundable offsets, an LMITO amount might not be displayed.
If you are eligible the amount should appear under the “Less non-refundable tax offsets” heading on your assessment notice.
