Hi

Do I need to pay activity statement when I'm a sole trader who earns less than $75,000? MyGov account is telling me I have activity statement 001 overdue but I'm not sure if I have to pay for this?

Hi @jeomki,

Earning less than $75,000 means you won't need to register for GST. If you have a debt amount appearing in your activity statement 001 account, it means you're registered into something and an amount is overdue. Do you lodge activity statements at all? If you click in the activity statement 001 account is there a debit (DR) transaction? If so, it should have a description that tells you what it is. Let us know what the description is and we'll advise from there as it could be a few different things.

No I don't lodge activity statements and when I click on the activity statement account there is a history of quarterly PAYG instalment notice with a debt of $757? Do I need to pay PAYG instalments when I'm a sole trader who earns less than $75,000? I'm also not earning any income at the moment as a sole trader due to illness
