Hi all,

i am working as a road worker and requested to stay away from home. my emplyer paid accomodation. and show in payslip is B&L incidential.

my industry cover overtime meal allowance. i did work overtime everyday. (2-5 hours overtime)

when I check my income statement, the employer have put Gross income,Tax withheld and Meal allowance, which i just found out it actually the total of B&L incidential and my overtime meal allowance under the award.


So did they did my income statement right?

how can i claim the meal deduction, or travel allowance?

how can i report it if they are wrong?

Hi @Hien_Bamford,


Yes, your employer can report the meal allowance in your income statement.


You can claim a deduction for the cost of the meal as long as:


If you receive a travel allowance there are certain expenses you can claim.


Have a chat with your employer about how they've reported your income. If they've made an error they're the ones that can fix it.
