When applying for a directors ID I am instructed to open MyGovid and enter a one time pin. An authentication message arrives on my phone. I open MyGovID on my phone, sign in and the app closes immediately. There is no error.
Do you still have the same issue when accessing online services other than the Director ID application form?
If you open and log into the myGovID app first before accessing an online service do you have the same experience?
Have you checked your app settings to confirm required permissions are 'enabled'?
Do you have the same experience when using dedicated mobile data or dedicated wifi only?
Have you tried to uninstall/reinstall the app?
Have you tried on another device?

Tried everything you suggested and thanks for replying.
Spent 4 hours calling from South Africa speaking to support all to no avail. Tried on my Samsung tablet. Same problem. Tried on my wife's Samsung. Same problem. Pulled an old Nokia out of the draw, put my Sim in that, installed the app and it worked first time. Bottom line is the app sucks and is not properly compatible with android devices that are on the supported list which all but the Nokia were. The Nokia is the only one that worked. While support tried hard to help and were patient and friendly there was no way to escalate as there was no error so nobody knew what to do. It is also mind numbimgly stupid that I would not be allowed to do it in person when I am there in 2 weeks. Suffice to say it's done after hundreds of dollars on phone calls and I now have dedicated phone for mygovid.
