I applied for a Director identification Number (DIN) through Australian Business Registry Services (ABRS) on 13 October and it was received by ABRS on 28 October. I'm trying to find out how to check the status of the DIN and how I will be made aware of the DIN once it has been created. It's possible I may be inquiring from the wrong organization, but I ended up on the ATO website after inquiring through the ABRS website. Thank you!

Thanks for the extra information.

 

Postal applications may take up to 3 months to process.

 

Unfortunately, that's correct, there's no way to track the status of the paper application.

 

As you've submitted your application before the deadline your obligations are met.

 

You should receive correspondence via post once the application is processed.

Hi @amadden,


Do you have access to myGov or ABRS online services?


If so, you should receive a notification in your myGov inbox regarding your director ID.


Once you have your director ID you will be able to view it using ABRS online.

Thank you for your reply. Since I have a U.S. Passport, I was told I need to apply through the mail without going through myGov, so I mailed in my application vs. applying online. There might be no way to track the status if submitting the application through the mail. Thank you for trying to help, though.
