Sorry to hear you're having trouble with myGovID! Unfortunately there isn't a way to entirely delete your account, but hopefully we can help you get around this issue.


There is some advice on the help page for what to do when your name is different. You can also update your name on myGov. Hope one of these options can help you!

Hello,


If it is your myGov account name that is incorrect you can contact the myGov support line and request that they delete your myGov account. You can then create a new myGov login with your correct name and relink to the relevant services you require.


Linking to other government services within myGov should not result in your name being changed with that government service.


If your myGovID name is incorrect and you may be able to correct this by using a linking name document to effect the name change such as a name change or marriage certificate.

If this is not possible you will need to contact the myGovID support line and request that your myGovID be cancelled.


You will still be able to access your myGov account via the standard username and two factor authentication method.


Unless you require a myGovID for business purposes or employment, don't bother to link it to your myGov account again.
