The public officer of the company has a myGovID with a standard identify strength. Can he link this company in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM) with a view to access the ATO online services portal?

From reading of relevant information on ATO website, it suggests that the public officer can only link the business if he has a myGovID with strong identity strength. To achieve strong identity strength, Australian passport is mandatory. Does this mean that if the public officer of the company is not an Australian citizen, he cannot link the business on RAM and consequently cannot access the ATO online services portal?

Thanks.

Hi @taxsavvy16,

To link a business in RAM you do need to have a Strong identity strength in myGovID.

You are correct. The only way to obtain a strong identity strength in myGovID is to verify a passport. If you do not have a passport, you will not be able to get a strong identity strength. This does not have any influence on whether the public officer is an Australian Citizen or not. Some people do not have a passport.

There are some alternatives on how to link if you cannot online.
