With 3 of my colleagues we provided to ATO via mail the proof of identity documents for non residents in November 2022 applying access to be able to lodge BAS returns for 3 companies. The documents were sent in one batch in one mail package. 2 of us received the confirmation at the beginning of Dec for all 3 entities that we successfully completed the POI requirements. The other two colleagues received only 1 confirmation at the beginning of Dec for 1 entity that POI outcome was successful. All the required documents were sent in the same time and confirmations from RAM were received on the same date. Should we expect that the rest of the confirmation would come later or could it be a processing error? Who should be contacted in this case?

Hi @zscziva,

When you send POI documents, we advise to send each individual separately. When documents for multiple individuals are received in one envelope it can take longer.

This is due to the documents being scanned into our computer system as one file. If this happens, we then need to separate everyone’s documents to proceed. This can push out the timeframe on actioning the request.

When we have been able to action this request, we will send confirmation via email. If we cannot process the details, we will also send an email with the reason. It may be worth getting your colleagues to check their emails.

Let us know how you go.
