I am an Australian Citizen/National and decided to move overseas permanently in 2019. Every year I am paying the HELP Overseas Levy and have about 35k left to pay. In my superannuation account I had accumulated around 27k before I left Australia. My intention is to never to return to Australia, and whilst I am cognizant to the fact that I am not over 65 years of age (aged 30) and I am not experiencing the definition of what the ATO deems to be 'Financial Hardship', I still wanted to ask would it be possible to withdraw my entire super fund account balance in order to directly pay the ATO for my HELP loan?
I am married and have children and a house, and as mentioned above although I am not going through financial hardship, being able to do this would make mine and my families life a lot easier.
