I want to know if I can claim a capital loss on these delisted shares.

I have received a letter saying.

"Resource Generation Limited (‘RES’) will be removed from the Official List from the commencement of trading on Thursday, 27 October 2022 in accordance with Listing Rule 17.12. The securities of RES have been suspended from trading for a continuous period of 2 years. The removal has been undertaken in accordance with the policy set out in section 3.4 of ASX Listing Rules Guidance Note 33 Removal of Entities from the ASX Official List."

Delisting is not enough to allow a capital loss - the shares still exist.

You need to either transfer the shares, or wait till the liquidator's loss letter appears on the website below.

Hi, is this applicable for US shares too? Do you know a similar website or process to verify if a company has gone under and my shares no longer exist?
