To update your email:
- Set up your myGovID
- Obtain the same identity strength as obtained previously
- Logout of myGovID app
- Log back into myGovID app
- Select "My identity"
- Select and update email
If the ability to update the email is not available, you will need to wait 24 hours and then try again.
If you receive the error message 51008 it means that the email address you are attempting to claim has already been registered. To resolve this specific issue you will need to contact myGovID support, provide all the relevant email information, and direct the service agent to escalate your request that the email address be cancelled so that you may claim it.
