To comply with SMSF rules, do i need to purchase a safe to store the gold bullion? Do i need security cameras? Do i need to insure the gold with my house insurance?

Best not to store at home - Perth Mint or similar.
Any insurance policies need to be owned by SMSF, so house insurance will not work.
Ask your SMSF auditor what they would require in order to audit the gold if kept at home.
