I’ve been trying to ring the ATO number [removed by moderator] to get a linking code for my son as we can’t do it online we have been trying to call for 2 weeks and it just says no one can take the call and apologises then cuts off is there another number to ring

Sorry you're having trouble getting through. We have been at peak demaned lately.
Our contact centre is open from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and we recommend calling right at opening to have the best chance at getting through.
I'll let you know as well - before giving out a linking code our agent will need to confirm your son's identity by speaking to him directly. He will need to have 2 identity documents ready to verify as well such as a licence/ medicare card and a passport/ birth certificate.

I note that as March has turned to November, you're still at peak demand. I too am finding it impossible to get through, and impossible to resolve my issue online. It might be an idea for the ATO contact centre to hire a second employee?
