Hi

My wife's super had a non concessional contribution of $300k in October 2020 (financial year 2020/21) using the bring forward rule. I had two questions about further contributions.

  1. She wants to make a further contribution of $100k - can she do this in financial year 2023/24? I have assumed that she cannot make a contribution for financial years 2021/22 and 2022/23 but can start again in 2023/24.
  2. Can I make a spouse contribution of $3,000 in 2023/24 as she won't reach the non concessional limit of $110,000 and she does not have $1.7m in super?

Thanks for assistance - I just want to make sure I do not break any contribution rules.

  1. Yes - if super law in 2023-24 has not changed.
  2. Yes, as long as total contributions do not exceed NCC cap in that year - whatever that may be. And if rules for spouse contributions have not changed by then.
