I am currently overseas. l received a message from ATO - MyGov: Your account has been placed on hold pending review, kindly visit [removed by moderator] to resolve. Short answer - did that useless. l have screenshots and photos to prove what l did, but can't attach here. l also emailed ATO asking for explanation and requested a phone call as l am on a $10 year plan = PAYG on hold with ATO for 20 mins = credit is gone @ 50 cents a min. Furthermore, when l try to set-up digital identity by inputting correct info - have proof via photos as screenshots are not allowed - my info is blocked. Question: why is my profile pending after years and years why now? What is the ATO issue?

I'm afraid this sounds like someone pretending to be us. We won't send text messages asking you to respond with info.


You should report this scam to us and let us know as many details as possible. This link takes you to our website and gives you more info about ways you can report to us as well as tips to pick out scam messages/calls and emails.


For your myGovID are you following the steps on the myGovID site? If you're getting an error code when trying to set it up, let us know what it is. We'll look into this further when everyone returns tomorrow.
