I asked question how to update personal details once have moved overseas and my Aust mobile number no longer exists so cant get a code to login. Advice was to set up a new account with a new email address which I have tried - it advises to use the Mygov App which doesn't recognise overseas numbers. So then tried via I.D. options and it wont recognise my Passport and as my Aust drivers licence has expired it wont ID that either. So I cant register. I have been getting notices from ATO but cant read them as obviously I cant access my account. The very very very simple solution is to be able to change security I.D. notification from Mobile to Email. We all have security passwords to access our account so why not allow us to change security notification to our email (which is also secure as we create it). The option to call is just not workable especially from overseas as the que time is unacceptable. I guess all contact since i left Australia and for future is void as ATO / MyGov cannot solve a simple issue.

Depending on the updates you need to complete. You could do them through the change of details for individual’s form.

As mentioned i cant access myGov account as the code gets sent to a phone that doesnt exist anymore so i cant update my personal details. As also mentioned any person should be able to change the notification format (e.g. from phone to email) but that cant be done as i have to put in the code sent to the phone that doesn't exist. If I knew i had to change things before I left i would have but regardless it shouldn't be this hard. We have secure passwords so just let us access ou account. I left in November and paid all my tax so anything you're trying to send me is irrelevant anyway as I'll have to lodge tax return in current country.
