Hi there,

I am currently working 2 jobs at the same time.

I have held job A for a longer period of time and claimed the tax-free threshold when I began my employment. I started job B earlier this year and have not claimed the tax-free threshold.

Job B has become my main source of income and I am wondering whether I should switch my tax-free threshold from job A to job B as I am earning more at job B.

Thanks!

You can swap over, as long as you are not claiming for both jobs at the same time.

Hi @ChloeNelson,

If you want to change the tax-free threshold with your employer's, you'll need to complete the withholding declaration for both. For your original employer you'll need to select No, you do not want to claim the tax-free threshold. For your 2nd employer select yes, you want to claim the tax-free threshold.

Both your employers will retain the withholding dec' and they should update their PAYG withholding to adjust the amount of tax they withhold from your payments.
