I need a Strong Identity strength in order to operate my business (i.e. add and link businesses and trusts to myGovID) but am unable to do so. There is an error in the app whereby once I have verified by Drivers License and Medicare Card, I then need to verify either an Australian Passport (which I don't have), Australian Birth Certificate (which I don't have) or Visa details linked to a foreign passport. When I choose this option and enter my UK passport details, the next (and only) step is to take a pitcure of an Australian Passport. I've reset the app and done this twice. I can't call [removed by moderator] (option 2) and speak to anyone sinvce it says you're busy and won't return a call. What are my options - this is important and needs to be resolved.

To reach strong strength you do need an Australian passport not a foreign passport.


Are you trying to link your business in RAM?

thanks and yes, I need to link multiple trusts to MyGovID so that I can manage their tax affairs and to do this I must be the principal authority. The ATO website says to do this my digital identify needs to be Standard or Strong, but this has clearly been changed to Strong only now which is not possible for foreign passport holders (despite being on a permanent visa). Thanks for your help

You only require a Standard identity strength to link a business in RAM. Where the business is not appearing, you may want to speak to someone from our business enquiry line, as they will be able to initiate a link for your using an authorisation code.
