Is it ok to lodge another application for TFN in ATO to get another receipt ID because I failed to get my receipt at my first application, and I think that I might need it someday.

We recommend that you don't lodge another TFN application, as this can cause delays to your original application. In most cases people don't need to use their receipt ID at all because they receive their TFN within the 28 day timeframe.
If your application takes longer than 28 days and you want to check with us about the progress, we can still help you even without the receipt ID.
