There is a registered tax agent attached to my account. I do not want to contact them to ask them to remove themselves nor do I have a new tax agent who can put themselves as my tax agent. It appears that I need to telephone the ATO to have my old tax agent removed, but the ATO's recorded message indicates that they cannot accept calls. How can I remove my tax agent's details?

I am sorry to hear you have not been able to get through on our phone line.
You are correct, you are unable to remove them on your online services. I understand you do not want to contact the agent. However, when you advise the agent that you no longer want to use them. They are then obligated to ensure your contact details are up to date and can remove you from their client list.
If you don't want to contact them, you may need to persist with the phone lines.
