If my Salary includes Super, should I be taxed on the full amount or taxed on the figure after the Super is taken out?
Hi @Stephyb1972, you are only taxed on the amount paid to you as part of your gross. (No super).
Super is an employer obligation to pay. Some employers report it as one amount and include it as part of your total package, others will split it out into an annual amount + superannuation. Noting that for those employers who have it displayed as a total amount including the super, there is usually a little clause about as your super rate goes up (10.5% to 11% etc.) your gross will go down. (Unless you get a pay rise). Something to be aware of. (Review your employment contract to ensure you understand how it will work, if not ask your payroll person I am sure they will be able to assist you).
Hope this helps.
Shelly
