Can i pay $110,000 PLUS the tax-deductible personal contribution $27,500 into my superfund in the one financial year? Or does the $27,500 have to be claimed from the $110,000 amount?

Yes, if you are under age 67, or can pass the work test under age 75.
And are not prevented from contributing by your TSB, or previous contributions.
Or does the $27,500 have to be claimed from the $110,000 amount?
No, but if there are employer contributions then you may have excess CC.

My employer has contributed around $4,000 this financial year. I have already made a voluntary contribution of $109,000 this FY. I was planning to contribute an extra $23,000 as a pretax voluntary contribution. Does this sound right? My super fund told me that I would have to claim the $23,000 off my existing contribution of $109,000.
