Dear ATO Community,

Need some advice on getting a Standard myGovID to assess and manager the Company's ATO/RAM/Tax filings and Online Services for Business.

I am currently based in overseas. I have an Australian TFN, and an Australian temporary working visa (not yet relocate to Australia).

1) Australian Passport - N/A I am a foreigner.

2) Driver’s licence (including learner’s permit) - N/A unless I relocate to Australia and get the licence?

3) Birth certificate - N/A I am a foreigner.

4) Visa (using your foreign passport) - I think the Australian temporary working visa will work.

5) ImmiCard - N/A I am a foreigner, do not hold any permanent visa, only temporary working visa.

6) Citizenship Certificate - N/A same reason above.

7) Medicare card – N/A same reason above.

Currently myGovID is just Basic, and I would need to increase the strength to Standard in order to access the full functions of the Online Services for Business. Is visa + driving license the only possible way?

Is there any alternative, for example can I get some exception as this is for work purpose?

Thanks.

Hey @INeedHelpThanks,

Unfortunately, at this stage there isn't a way you can reach a standard identity strength.

We're sorry but we don't have an alternative option for you to be able to update your identity strength without Australian documents.
