My husband's shares in several companies have been transferred to joint names, so he has effectively retained 50% ownership. I know how to enter CGT information on shares that were sold, but am unsure how to deal with the the fact that he retains 50% ownership.

retained 50% ownership.
Not a disposal for CGT.
transferred to joint names
Means half the shares were disposed to you for market value on the date of transfer.
Cost base = half of the original cost base.
