We have implemented new payroll software as of 26th of Sep 2022.

The contract with previous software provider has been ended and we are not able to make any changes/process transactions.

Given above circumstance, I would like to get advice on below:

  1. We have submitted the last pay even STP report, however we are not able to finalise EOFY with previous software (the period is for 01 July 2022 to 25 Sep 2022). Please advise me if there’s any way we can finalise STP report for EOFY 2023.
  2. There are quite many employees that have resigned or terminated in previous system that was having reportable fringe benefit amount to be reported to ATO. We have received RFBA letter from our salary packaging provider in May 2023. We are not able to use / make changes in previous software, then is there any way that we can submit Reportable Fringe Benefit Amount for these terminated employees in previous system? (As they were terminated in previous system, we didn’t carry forward them to new system.)

Many thanks

Hi @Kk2008,

You'll need to make your request by phone to us to have the data finalised for the previous system if you're unable to self-correct.

For the resigned or terminated employees that have RFBA component. You're best to complete a paper PAYG payment summary individual non-business for each employee that includes RFBA component only and provide this to the employee.

Then complete a paper annual PAYG statement summary and send this to us for RFBA component only.

So, the resigned or terminated employees will have one statement via STP and one by paper with the RFBA component only.

You cannot create resigned or terminated employees in the new system.

Hey @Kk2008,

Usually when you change your software part way through the year you'll need to transfer the data to your new software and zero out the old software or do an early finalisation in the old software.

Are you able to first speak to the software provider to see if they can offer you any help with finalising the data? If they can't help you may need to request help from us to finalise it for you.

You won't be able to re report new data for the terminated employees as it's already been reported to us. This will create multiple income statements for them, and you'll have to request for one of them to be removed.

You can also read more about finalising your STP data on our website.
