Can my client continue to accept and pay invoices from a contractor who has now exceeded the $75,000.00 GST threshold, but has not registered. I have advised the contractor that he is required to register. Will my client be penalised if he continues to pay the contractor?

Hi @KRB77

Yes, your client can continue to pay the invoices, if an entity is not registered for GST, they are not able to charge GST.

Your client will not be penalised for continuing to pay.

If you or your client are concerned an entity is not meeting their registration requirements, you can help us keep the system fair for everyone and complete a tip-off form.
