The market value I've calculated for RSUs on the vesting date is lower than what ATO have calculated? How do I find out what value the ATO is using as I can only see a lump sum not a volume of shares to divide by on my tax assessment. What was the Fair Market Value used please?
Hey @melc0123,
We have various threads about RSU's on our forum. Have you sold the shares?
If you sell after 30 days but within the 12 months of vesting, you'll report the difference between vesting and the sale price.
If you sell more than 12 months after vesting, you'll report 50% of the difference between vesting and sale price as a capital gain or loss.
You can read more about employee share schemes (ESS) and access the ESS calculator on our website.

Hi Anita
I had read that - thank you for sharing but that was not my question.
My question is - how do I find out what market value the ATO is using for the dates the RSU vested and became taxable income.
Thank you
