Good afternoon!


I lodged my tax return electronically on the 5th of August. I have been regularly checking in case the ATO needs additional information from me.


The estimated assessment date and notice of assessment date is today, the 11th of August and states that a refund has been issued. No refund has yet reached my bank account.


The financial institution details are now my details (I updated this on Wednesday) and says that a tax refund is in progress. The financial details were previously my accountant's, per her instructions.


Is the refund delayed, or going to my accountant first? This is what I am unsure about.

Hi @Jacksivylouise4,


When your refund shows as "issued" that means we've released the funds from our system, however it can often take a few more days to actually reach your bank account (it varies depending on your bank's processing times). You'll most likely recieve your refund sometime next week.


Keep an eye on it and if you don't receive it sometime next week, our page on missing refunds has information on how we can help you. If you previously had your accountant's bank details on file you could check with them first.
