Based on the data released by ABS Concessional contribution caps are expected to index on 1/07/2026 and as a result Non-concessional will change to (4 x CC cap). I have been checking the ATO Key rates page, its yet to change. Does anyone know when we can expect the ATO to confirm FY27 contribution caps?

It will be $32,500/$130,000 commencing 1 July 2026. I can imagine it will be updated on the ATO website sometime in the next few weeks, but the increases are already legislated by virtue of the indexation in the legislation, so there is no uncertainty about it going ahead.

Hi @SuperNerd,

The contribution caps for the 2026–27 financial year haven’t been confirmed yet. The concessional contributions cap is indexed in line with average weekly ordinary time earnings (AWOTE) and increases in increments of $2,500 when the indexation threshold is met.

The non‑concessional contributions cap isn’t indexed separately. It’s set at four times the concessional cap, so it only changes when the concessional cap changes.

The concessional cap is currently $30,000 (from 1 July 2024), and the non‑concessional cap is $120,000. If indexation occurs for 2026–27, the concessional cap would increase to $32,500, and the non‑concessional cap would automatically become $130,000.

We publish updated caps on our website once the indexation calculations are finalised. This typically happens closer to the start of the financial year, after the relevant AWOTE data is confirmed.

You can check the key super rates and thresholds page for the most current information once the 2026–27 caps are confirmed.

Thank you @NikkiATO, the relevant ABS data, AWOTE, was released on 26/02/2026 which indicates that unless there is intervention they are increasing. I was under the impression ATO update their website a bit earlier.

TBC indexation data, CPI was released late January and the Key Rates and thresholds page for TBC was updated 17 Feb.

I will keep an eye on the page. Cheers
