Hi there,


Does anyone know if the ATO can issue a formal invoice or receipt for voluntary payments made towards your HELP loan?


I understand that it is possible to print or download a list of the transactions that have been made on your HELP loan (including the voluntary repayments you have made) but I am specifically interested in a receipt / invoice format that documents other important details such as the ABN and business name.

Hi @atan09,


No. We don’t issue formal invoices or receipts for voluntary payments made towards a HELP loan.


What we do provide is a record of your HELP account transactions. You can view, download or print a transaction history in ATO Online services, which shows:

  • the date of each payment
  • the amount paid
  • that the payment was applied to your HELP balance (including voluntary repayments).
