I am having surgery on the 23/04 and applied for compassionate release of super on 7/04 (I know this is a bit late, but the surgeons office took 4 weeks to get the forms back to me). Is there any way I can speed this up? I am unable to have the surgery if it isn’t approved and paid in time.

If you’ve already submitted an application for early release of super on compassionate grounds, there isn’t a formal way to fast-track it – but online applications are usually processed faster than paper ones (around 14 days).
You can check the status of your application through myGov (linked to ATO Online Services).
If it’s been more than 14 days or you think some info may be missing, phone our super team to talk about it further.
