Who is liable for the tax on the income he received from AIRBNB? He registered AIRBNB in his own name. I have not received the income.
- Most likely, you are liable for the tax
- "You must declare all the income you receive for your rental property (including from overseas properties) in your tax return. These include:
- short-term rentals
- renting your property through a sharing platform
- renting part or all of your home
- formal and domestic arrangements where you rent out to family and friends at less than commercial (or market) rates."
- "You need to declare rental income based on your legal ownership of the property."
- Most likely, you not receiving the money would be treated as you gifting money to your son
I do not claim any expenses such as mortgage payments, rates and taxes as as tax deduction.
- Mortgage payments are not the deduction. It's the interest charged
