One of my children runs her business through a Family Trust. She is now the controller of the trust. If she distributes money to me and I pay tax on it at a lower rate than she would otherwise pay, can I use the money to pay her personal living expenses; specifically her rent where she lives. If so, will the ATO regard the gifted payment as a reimbursement scheme. Will she then have to pay tax on it?

Better to get a private ruling or ask a tax professional.
Likely, would depend on how ATO applies Part IVA
