I was in AU as a PR and worked there till 2014, now I realized I might have lost super which I am eligible to claim since my PR visa is not valid anymore, I just have a tourist visa valid for next 1 year but I am not sure if I will be travelling there. I need help please regarding below:

  1. Unable to link mygov due to no valid visa or residing overseas, called overseas helpline number +61262163444 many a times and they just put on hold for more than 20 mins. and gets disconnected before even someone answer. By the way it's not cheap to call overseas, so I was wondering if I can ask someone there to call me back or help via email/chat.
  2. Once linking is done how do I go with claiming my lost/unclaimed super. I made contribution in 3 different super funds but can't remember any of my super a/[Removed by moderator] no. so don't know what to do. One of the super fund was Kinetic Super which as per Google it got merged into with some other fund. Unfortunately my employer(then) has no records of that fund or my super a/[Removed by moderator] no.

Kindly someone help me in getting my superannuattion back.

Kind Regards,

LS

Hi @LS28,

We've answered a similar question about how someone can claim their super.

Based on what you've said, you wouldn't be eligible to release your super under the Departing Australia Superannuation Payment (DASP) because you were in Australia on a permanent resident visa. Have a read through the post I linked, as it explains that super component and rules around when you can access your super.

To answer your other question, your super may have been transferred to us as ATO‑held super, especially if it has been a long time since contributions were made.

If you can’t access your ATO account through myGov (for example, because you no longer have an Australian mobile number or can’t reach a standard or strong identity in myID), the best option is to contact us by phone or write to us so we can update you on your super.

We don’t use email to discuss account info, as it’s not a secure way to confirm your identity.

You can also contact your previous super funds to check if they still hold any of your super. However, given the time that has passed, it’s probably quicker to start with us, as we may already be holding those amounts on your behalf.
