I purchased parent's property as an investment for less than the dutiable value. Can I use the dutiable value in the cost base when selling because original transaction was from parent
Don't know. Dutiable value isn't necessarily the market value
The solicitor/law professional preparing the transfer should have told you and your parents about needing a market valuation report
May help to read Market valuation of assets and Market valuation for tax purposes
"You use the market value of a property to calculate your CGT if both of the following are true:
- what you received was more or less than the market value of the property
- you and the new owner were not dealing with each other at arm's length."
