This is my first arrival in Australia and I try to make a TFN. I have submitted my application using the IAR with with my Indonesian number (62 code area). I am afraid of this because my friend said that it could be a serious problem during my application process. Should I reapply or wait until 28 days? Thank you

Hi @Panggih,

Using your Indonesian phone number on your TFN application won't cause a problem with your application process. The phone number you provide is just one part of your contact details and won't affect whether your application is approved or processed.

You shouldn't lodge another application. When you submit multiple applications, it can actually slow down the processing of your first application. The service standard for TFN applications is 28 days after we've received your application, so you should wait for this timeframe to pass.

Once you've completed your application online using the Individual Auto Registration (IAR), we'll post your TFN to the Australian postal address on your application. This can take up to 28 days, and we appreciate your patience during the processing period.

If you haven't received your TFN notice after 28 days, contact our individuals team and provide your ATO receipt ID. Don't lodge another application before this time, as it will cause delays.
