I am experiencing the "minimum access requirements" error when trying to access ATO online services through myGov.

The exact error message reads:

"Your sign in method doesn't meet minimum access requirements. You've used a sign in method with a lower identity strength than you've used previously. To continue, log out and sign in to myGov again using the method with your highest identity strength.”

My Situation:

  • I have a myGov account and a myID app, which have both been successfully linked to the ATO in the past.
  • My myID app has always been at Strong strength.
  • I have reinstalled the My Gov App twice and added ID verification to get to Strong but still receive the error message.

Hi there @IronSparks,

If you've previously accessed ATO online services using a Strong myID, you'll need to continue signing in with a Strong myID.

Check the identity strength displayed in the myID app, sign out of myGov completely, then sign in again using your Strong myID. If your myID already shows Strong identity strength and you're still receiving the error, you'll need to speak to us. Your online access strength may need further assistance to resolve.
