My grandfather died in 1969, leaving his estate, a rural property, in a testamentary trust until the death of my grandmother in 1988. His children were the beneficiaries and my grandmother had a lifetime right to occupy the land. A Lot was transferred to my mother and her sisters as their share of their father’s estate in 1990 by a Deed of Family Arrangement.
Is this inheritance dated to his death in 1969 and therefore pre CGT?
(My grandmother had no will.)
